1. Your membership
These terms form the agreement between Resolute Martial Arts Limited and the adult purchasing the membership. For members under 18, a parent or legal guardian must accept these terms and arrange payment.
Your membership starts on the date shown when you join. Your selected membership plan sets out the price, payment frequency and classes included.
Monthly memberships run on a rolling basis until cancelled. There is no fixed minimum term beyond the cancellation notice below.
Please keep your contact details, emergency contacts and relevant health information up to date.
2. Monthly payments
Membership fees are collected monthly by direct debit on the agreed payment date. Payments continue automatically until your membership is cancelled or an agreed freeze begins.
Monthly fees spread the cost of the advertised annual training programme across the year. Payments therefore continue during school holidays and planned club breaks disclosed before joining.
Choosing not to attend, going on holiday or missing individual classes does not automatically pause payments or entitle you to a refund. This does not affect your statutory rights or the medical arrangements below.
Uniforms, equipment, gradings, competitions, camps and special events are charged separately unless your membership plan expressly includes them. Any additional cost will be explained before you agree to purchase.
3. Cancelling your membership
You may cancel by giving one calendar month’s written notice to info@resolutemartialarts.co.uk. Please include the member’s full name. You may also submit a cancellation request through ClubRight where this feature is enabled.
Notice starts when we receive your request. We will confirm your membership end date and any final payment. A delay in our acknowledgement will not extend your notice period.
Fees remain payable during the notice period, and you may continue attending eligible classes. If a payment covers time beyond your membership end date, we will adjust the payment or refund the excess proportionately.
You can cancel your direct debit with your bank at any time. Please also notify us to end your membership agreement. Stopping the bank instruction alone does not necessarily cancel the membership or settle fees properly due.
4. Online joining and cooling-off
For monthly memberships purchased online or otherwise at a distance, you may cancel within 14 days after entering the agreement without giving a reason.
To cancel, send a clear statement to info@resolutemartialarts.co.uk or our contact address. You may use the cancellation form below, but you do not have to.
If you expressly request that your membership starts during this period, you can still exercise your cancellation right. Where legally permitted, we may deduct a proportionate amount for services supplied before you cancel. Otherwise, we will refund payments in full.
Refunds due under this section will be made within 14 days of receiving your cancellation request, using the original payment method unless you agree otherwise.
5. Failed payments
If a payment fails, we will contact you and explain how to resolve it. Our payment provider may retry collection, with notification under its payment process.
We may temporarily suspend training access while an overdue payment remains unresolved. After three unsuccessful collection attempts, we may end the membership and confirm this in writing.
Ending membership does not erase fees already properly due, but we will not continue charging ongoing membership fees after the membership has ended.
If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please contact us promptly so we can discuss the situation.
6. Illness, injury and medical freezes
If illness or injury prevents you from training, please contact us to request a medical freeze.
We may ask for reasonable supporting evidence, such as a doctor’s letter, but will not require unnecessary medical details. We will confirm the freeze dates, payment arrangements and return date in writing.
For a long-term condition that prevents training, we will consider cancellation without the normal notice period on reasonable evidence. A freeze does not prevent you from requesting cancellation.
7. Bookings and attendance
Members may attend the classes included in their membership, subject to age, suitability and available spaces.
Where booking is required, please book through ClubRight and cancel promptly if you cannot attend.
Arrive in time for the warm-up. An instructor may refuse late entry where joining would be unsafe.
Grading and competition entry depend on readiness and instructor approval. Membership does not guarantee a particular belt or competition place.
8. Training safety and conduct
Martial arts involves physical activity and, in some sessions, controlled contact. Injuries can occur even when reasonable precautions are taken.
Members must:
Follow instructor directions and use equipment safely.
Tell instructors about injuries, health conditions or support needs relevant to safe participation.
Wear suitable clothing and the protective equipment required for the activity.
Remove jewellery or discuss a safe alternative with the instructor.
Treat students, families and staff respectfully.
Keep outdoor shoes off the training mats.
Avoid training under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Sparring, weapons practice and board breaking must take place only with instructor permission and supervision. Please tell the instructor if you do not wish to participate in a particular activity.
We will discuss reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
9. Children and safeguarding
Parents and guardians must provide accurate emergency contact information and discuss any relevant support or collection arrangements with us.
Please ensure children are handed over to the instructor and collected promptly. Children must not be left unattended before or after their session unless an arrangement has been agreed.
Safeguarding concerns should be reported promptly to an instructor or raised through info@resolutemartialarts.co.uk. We will refer concerns to the appropriate safeguarding lead.
10. Timetable changes and closures
We may make reasonable changes to instructors or the timetable and will give as much notice as practicable.
If we cancel a session outside the planned breaks disclosed before joining, we will offer a suitable replacement, credit or proportionate refund where appropriate. For an extended unplanned closure, we will arrange an appropriate payment pause, credit or refund.
If a significant change substantially reduces the service included in your membership, you may cancel without the usual notice period and receive a proportionate refund for affected prepaid services.
11. Price changes
We will give at least one calendar month’s written notice of a membership price increase.
You may cancel before the increase takes effect without paying the increased rate. We will explain how to do this in the notice.
12. Suspension or termination by the club
We may suspend participation immediately where reasonably necessary to protect someone’s safety or address a safeguarding concern.
Serious misconduct, bullying, harassment, violence or repeated safety breaches may result in termination. Where appropriate, we will explain the concern and give an opportunity to respond or correct it.
If we terminate membership, we will confirm the end date and refund prepaid fees for the unused period after that date, subject to any lawful deductions.
13. Privacy and photographs
Our separate Privacy Notice explains how we use membership, payment, health and emergency contact information, including through ClubRight and our payment provider.
Permission to use identifiable photographs or videos for promotional purposes will be requested separately. Accepting these membership terms does not provide that permission.
14. Your rights and complaints
We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Please send complaints to info@resolutemartialarts.co.uk, including the member’s name and details of the concern.
15. Acceptance
By accepting these terms, I confirm that:
I am aged 18 or over and am purchasing membership for myself or as the parent or legal guardian of a child.
I have read the selected membership details and these terms.
I understand that monthly payments continue until cancellation or an agreed freeze.
I understand the one calendar month cancellation notice, subject to the exceptions above.
I will provide accurate information and follow the club’s safety rules.
Optional cooling-off cancellation form
Complete this form only if you wish to cancel. You can also cancel by sending us any clear written statement.
